Our Story
Gisa Marsicovetere Heinz was born and raised in the vibrant capital of Guatemala. After moving to the United States to pursue her education and start a family, she found herself searching for a way to stay connected to her roots. She dreamed of bringing the beauty of Guatemalan craftsmanship into the lives of modern families—while also creating lasting impact for rural communities back home.

In 2015, with a three-month-old in one arm and a toddler tugging at the other, Gisa took a leap. Inspired by the rich textile traditions of Guatemala and the everyday magic of her own two daughters, she launched Folklore Las Niñas.
What started as a way to blend heritage with motherhood has grown into a beloved children’s brand rooted in purpose. Every piece we make is a celebration of culture, craft, and connection—designed to honor the hands that make it and the little ones who wear it.
From the beginning, Folklore has been about more than clothing. It's about storytelling through stitches, bridging cultures, and empowering the artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations.

What We Stand For
Thoughtfully handmade, rooted in honesty, and driven by a commitment to sustainability. Every piece we create is crafted with care—for your minis and for the planet.
